21st
A quiet day while we waited for the end of the world. Will and I managed to fit all our new purchases in Betsey. A drizzly, rainy day. People in Australia survived Rapture – or at least were able to Facebook from their place of judgement!

Lovely weather for a change. We drove out through Glenwood Canyon on the interstate on the way to Glenwood Springs. At Glenwood Springs we walked up a steep hill (damn altitude had us puffing like crazy!) to Doc Holliday’s supposed gravesite, though they’re not actually sure where exactly he was buried. He was a dentist in the 1800s who became a gunslinger most famous for a shootout at the OK Corral in Tombstone, Arizona. Any good Western movie buff worth his salt would know about him, but my knowledge of these things is fairly limited. A KFC picnic at a rest stop and then it was time for me learn how to throw a football gridiron style. It could have been the altitude still, but I wasn’t very good at it! A bit different from an AFL football and much more painful to handball! Will and Jacki rescued a poor little girl who had caught the strap of her ‘fanny pack’ (bahahah – bumbag) in the spokes of her wheels. Apparently her parents just watched her suffer, but then the shining knights arrived and saved her! Such a cute kid.

That evening we had dinner at Steph’s parents’ house with her family and a family friend. A Mexican feast! We also watched the ice hockey with them (avid fans it seems!), which was fun, but I still need help with rules and things! Of course the night wasn’t complete without a Tim-Tam slam! We converted their family friend and the expression on his face as he put the melted Tim-Tam in his mouth was priceless!! Maybe that was his Rapture and he’d gone to heaven haha.
